Awesome shot Richard...can you imagine the cost to heat and light that building? Even in Victorian times it would have been astronomical...They probably had lots of fireplaces and the amount of wood they would need would be huge! Its a beautiful piece of work, I wouldn't want to live there...Its probably haunted too lol!

the wood for a fireplace would have be brought in from other areas. no forests any where near except north of Houston
