Description
After Edward Antoon Portielje.
After climbing with pins, it's time for the descent. The contemplation of paintings presenting card players suggested to me a kind of slide which would materialize the trajectory of the card held in the raised hand until it is placed on the gaming table. This time the allegorical model of the viewer is initially jostled, and exposed in her inability to appreciate the vision of the paintings. Many genre scenes featuring card players show ambiguous relationships between men and women, some based on domination, at least through the gaze. After the pivot point of the fall, I propose the reconstruction of another look articulated to an evolution in the choice of paintings. As before, several evolutionary processes punctuate this sequence of 20 images; To you to discover them.

I love seeing all these artworks of people playing cards! I had no idea there were so many :-)

I admit that neither did I before putting together this series; the sample tables go well beyond the 20 I've chosen for the entire story arc. thank you very much for your comments.

Our contemporary lady has acquired the crown and is examining it with wonder. She stands upon a queen high straight flush (which would beat the previous hand of 4 aces if I recall my Poker correctly). The Edward Antoon Portielje painting shows three women quite happily playing cards. Things seem to be improving all round for the ladies! XD

Indeed, you saw correctly: in this second part of the series, each image presents a poker hand superior to the previous one to accompany the rise of the character. I like the idea that the young woman is holding her brand new crown, as one would raise a glass to celebrate a happy event. She turns to the painting, as if to share this feeling with the other women.
