Description
Whilst working on an asset bash I decided to take a break and pulled a character slated for other scenes to see how she'd look in natural light. The result was rather encouraging for a 3 minute render. I toned the exposure down a bit to represent a time of day better suited to her daring outfit and tweaked a little this and that, but at least I know she'll do well in her slated roles.
It wasn't until after she spun up that I realized her pose was very similar to the one in my recent post featuring 3D's Healey.
The maturing but confident lady is a tweaked Brooke 8.1 by -Yannek- over in DAZ coiffed by EichornArt's Wuschel Bob with a little texture help from -Wolfie-. The HDRI is available gratis at Renderhub.

All the time you put into this one, was well worth it...Brooke turned out beautiful! I specially like the lighting and how it nicely accents her skin tones. Did you use an additional light to get those nice shadows besides the use of the HDRI? I ask this because when ever I use an HDRI I find myself using an additional light to get the shadow effect I am after :-)
jdwtrxk
Thanks Johnny - no the only light in this one is the HDRI's and the camera from Most Digital Creations that eliminates the headlamp. This tends to darken the scene in iRay preview but sets the right tone, at least for me. In this one, I actually reduced the exposure and the Environmental Intensity in an attempt to 'latten the day'....
Raising the crm2 to 1.25 helps also -0 a trick I learned from Mr. Dalton.
I have used additional lights with indoor HDRIS, particularly with darkening the scene when using lamps and candles.

Thanks Saby - a little different than most, but appealing in her own way.

Very nice work! the lighting is wonderful.
jdwtrxk
Thanks mickale - the light is largely from the HDRI. All I did was fiddle with Intensity and Exposure a little....

A classic pose that doesn't mind being used again and again, I think. Her subtly amused expressing and gaze at something beyond the photographer is very good. All the technical talk about lighting is pretty much lost on me as my software works a bit differently but I know enough to know that lighting with the HDRI alone can be very realistic as it is here. Thanks for sharing, JD, I enjoyed viewing! =)

Thanks Molly - HDRIs aren't everyone's cup of tea but they can be quite useful in a pinch.
