Description
My magnum opus at Deviant Art is the Footman & York comic series. It features my eponymous Second Life character and her young friend Penny, the Second Life character of EnglishDamsel. I was messing around the last couple of days and came up with this story teaser where Molly and Penny assume the guise of Batman and Robin (I might say Batman has never looked more appealing). Of course, they will get into a lot of trouble and peril and I was inspired by the Batman serials from the 40's. I may not do more than this cover test image but thought I'd see what people thought.
Molly's art notes: This was set up and rendered using Poser 12.0.757, tweaked in Photoshop and mounted as a comic book cover using Comic Life 3.5.20. Molly and Penny are both based on Victoria 4 and their costumes are bits and bobs from ShareCG by Joe Quick and Terrymcg with modifications by yours truly. This is fanart, much like cosplay, and I am not making/taking a penny for it; it is homage. I am grateful to the creators of Batman and Robin who are owned by DC comics and Warner entertainment. I enjoyed late Golden Age and Silver Age comics with these characters and recommend them to you.

Thanks, Amy. I just heard from Penny and she's pleased with it, too, and hoping for more detective adventures. Of course, I should really finish the first one I started which is running to near 200 pages at this point. XD

Heh. Thanks, I love this kind of stuff. Over at Deviant Art I have 3 complete and one incomplete issue of this comic title featuring the lady detectives. Teaser covers like this are one of the best things about doing these. XD

Heh. Well, I've tried reading some of the post modern comic stories and they are kind of "angsty" for my taste. Stuff from the Golden and Silver Age (basically my childhood; dang, I still love the TV program "The Adventures of Superman" with George Reeves) still pleases me best and my silly stories are pretty much no heftier than that. Do what pleases you, right? =)

I met Adam West once as a child... he was staying in the same hotel as us and fell down the stairs - holy ankle sprain batman! My mom was the only doctor on the scene so she patched him up. My brother still has his autograph somewhere...
In defence of some of the later batperson creations, both Frank Miller and Brian Bolland are masters of layout (and have influenced Skytown in that regard)...
