I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

I've been here for an hour and 20 minutes---just to show you how slow I am! (3 images!) (well, 2 were TNA, so I have an excuse, as they're whole stories...) But rod I have to stop after this. (I also need to get to other galleries in the coming days...) But I picked this for the visual as well as for your thoughts.
Re your thoughts: I saw your most recent piece on multiple submissions, and your forum entries too. Coming from 2D and writing, I'm so used to being overlooked by the site at large, I haven't really thought about what a deluge all those 30-piece uploads are, and how they shove people's art right out of sight. I totally sympathize with you and others. Such artists should have their own pages, or whatever. And I've looked at some of those marathon uploads, and yeah, many are so similar to each other---why bother? I feel guilty when I put up 3, and some are doing essentially the same image, 30 times!
Also, I fully empathize with all artists who work so hard on one upload---I read wolf in the forum, and I appreciate spending 2 weeks on one chapter! Like you and some others do. (Hey, my most idiotic writings take me forever! I get the insult of these 30-shot uploads, believe me!) Someone comes along and drops 30 images---which are 29 drafts and one finished image...if I included my drafts, they'd need to rent out Montana for my gallery alone.
I sympathize. Totally. And yes, the site has changed! Many of the people I knew here are gone from the site for good, just as you've noticed. The place is less alive. Well, people like you keep the flame alit, so we'll just celebrate that and keep it all going.
Finally, I love this image. Such dark brown-reddish hues, and a real film noir use of shadow. And whatever is on that monitor, I love it---a cave? Something from a film? I love how your model sits, and glances over at us casually, and how she's in noir-like shadow and darkness. You also have that bright yellow-green-blue panel up top, which really makes fine contrast with the room. It feels like something is about to happen, as in a flat in a bogart film, where the woman has just been threatened, or someone she knows has disappeared, or maybe she'll be the one to threaten....Great light and design. I'll be back, Sir R, but I have to stop for now. But it's always a pleasure, no matter when or how...you're always consummate at what you do.

Thanks so much, Mark, for all your comments, buddy! After reading your comments, I feel like I'm in league with Lucas and Jackson! You see stuff in my work that I don't even see - or think about when I create. I mostly just go with how the image or scene "feels." Perhaps I picked up some of DeMille's DNA or something... LOL
Now, you just kick back and take it easy, Mark! You've come through a long battle, and it's time to recover and heal!
More TNA on the way! 😁

First of all, I need to say that the picture is compelling. The bars of shadow and light add a lot giving me a sense of fading day. The thoughtful expression on the model is great. Really nicely done! I think it conveys a mood of melancholy which probably matches your own at the moment.
As for the site, I have only been here a few years but I have noticed similar changes at Deviant Art where I have been longer. I think it is, in part, due to the huge increase of online content available to review. I have noticed here that commenting is often transactional: give a comment to get a comment. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, really, but I'd rather get a comment and interaction because: a. You really like my picture/story and here's what caught your eye b. You really hate my picture/story and here's what you think would make it better c. You want to know how I managed some visual or where I got the content I'm using d. You want to draw my attention to similar work that would inspire/improve my work e. Etc. Since commenting is largely transactional these days most comments are just simple praise, ticked the box and on to the next image in the gigantic queue. XD
I'm sorry I missed the halcyon days of yore but I'm currently trying to be what I want the site to be. Hopefully, not being too much of a butt about it! =\
And now I have to get on to the next image in my gigantic queue! =P
Hope things are coming along with the house problems.
