Description
Hello Rendosians !
I wanted to create an image to support Ukraine because I find this situation dangerous and completely silly.
Mr Poutine, who doesn't want to lose face, continues again and again to make war despite the resistance of the Ukrainian people.
Where will this situation lead? Nowhere but making more deaths and more destruction.
So here is an image related to an anti-war song " Lili Marlene."
Lili Marlene was created during WWII in Germany but was performed on both sides and became a song against war. The most famous version is the one of Marlene Dietrich who was deeply against Nazism.
I had the idea of this image when I learnt two weeks ago that Marlene Dietrich came with General Patton in my hometown during WWII : she certainly lifted up the mood of the American soldiers by performing some songs.
As I was reading about her biography , I learnt about this beautiful but sad love song.
Here are the lyrics in English :
Underneath the lantern
By the barrack gate
Darling I remember
The way you used to wait
'Twas there that you whispered tenderly
That you loved me
You'd always be
My Lili of the lamplight
My own Lili Marlene
Time would come for roll call
Time for us to part
Darling I'd caress you
And press you to my heart
And there neath that far off lantern light
I'd hold you tight
We'd kiss good night
My Lili of the lamplight
My own Lili Marlene
Orders came for sailing
Somewhere over there
All confined to barracks
'Twas more than I could bear
I knew you were waiting in the street
I heard your feet
But could not meet
My Lili of the lamplight
My own Lili Marlene
Resting in our billet
Just behind the line
Even though we're parted
Your lips are close to mine
You wait where that lantern softly gleamed
Your sweet face seems
To haunt my dreams
My Lili of the lamplight
My own Lili Marlene
My Lili of the lamplight
My own Lili Marlene.
I wish Ukraine will find peace soon !

The song was one of the first I learned to play all those years ago at the time I did not know or indeed understand what the song was about. As I got older in many ways you learn that war dose not solve the issues, from the time of Adam and Eve, we humans have killed each other, In many ways I am happy that I was never asked to go to the front line and kill yes, I said kill another human just to make some power mad manic happy Very nice render

Beautiful art work with a serious message that needs to be heeded for the sake of humanity. Amazing work as always! :-)

J'aime bien ton image.
