Description
Sonja Steelsinger departed the Darkstar mansion seething with anger. Fat Bob, the Guardian and the house staff remained at the mansion.
Miss Pannakin, her personal assisting clank, greeted Sonja as she arrived at the Darkstar Mechanical Person Manufactory. "Greetin's Miss. Where's teh Guardian and thet knob, Fat Bob? Comin' ter think on it, where's teh new Guvner?"
"D'rather not speak on it, Pannakin. It's all what yeh needs ter know when I tells yeh teh Guvner been shanghaied." Sonja crossly replied. "I'll need yer assistance gettin' ready fer goin' out this evening."
The little clank emitted a grinding sound while it thought. "Teh Tavern?" she hazarded. "Ef 'tis teh Tavern yeh be lookin' fer trade wi' teh pirates agin?"
Sonja merely nodded.
" 'Tis yer arms yeh'll be wantin', I wager," the little clank said.
"Aye. It's a fight I expect but I'll not leave those two without teh Guvner er least wise teh name o' person er persons what 'as teh Guvner in teh bag!"
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered with Poser 12.0.1029 and tweaked a bit in Photoshop. Steelsinger is based on La Femme with modifications by Afrodite-Ohki. Miss Pannakin is the work of 1971s as is the background. The Steam Carriage is by ADH3D.

Thanks, Rad. Not a lot of action but a lot of exposition and set up for the next few pictures which might take a bit of time for me to set up. They'll be a bit more complicated than this one.

Dear Molly, I love the steampunk style. Shanghaied - what does that mean? I guess nothing pleasant ...

Thank you, my dear. Shanghaied is an archaic nautical term which means to be pressed into acting against your own well being. It comes from the practice of abducting men from saloons using guile, chloroform or outright violence. The victims were conveyed to the ships upon which they were meant to serve as crew. By the time the victims recovered consciousness the ship was on it's way to distant destinations (such as Shanghai) and they had no choice but to serve. The term has come to mean making someone do things against their will or kidnapping them. Here, of course, the meaning is regarding kidnapping. Therefore, to be "shanghaied" is to be abducted or kidnapped. =)

I love Miss Pannakin, and what a helpful and perceptive assistant she is! Nice work making Sonja look as angry as she feels! Some bad guys are gonna have headaches (and perhaps body aches) come the morrow, I'd wager.
