“Eagle Clan” Print 119 The more I read about Native American thought, the more I have become intrigued with the philosophy surrounding these majestic people. I love the understanding that man and nature thrive in peace together. Moreover, many individuals within these tribes have honored their four-legged brothers by adopting spirit animals, such as the wolf, bear, snake, and many others to protect them from harm as they travel along life's journey. One of these great spirit animals is the “Bald Eagle”. Not only is the symbol of American pride, and courage, but has been worshiped through dances and prayed to during an upcoming battle with a fierce enemy. Furthermore, the eagle’s feathers have been us as trophies on a warrior’s war bonnet, as a symbol of courage, or accomplishment during a battle. Here in “Eagle Clan” I’ve tried to highlight this majestic creature. I hope he walks with us all to guide us on our journey. He tells us to be strong and courageous throughout the paths that we all must take.
