Description
-o§o-________ In the commentary about my former photo 'Piz Gloria' , featuring the Schilthorn alpine summit and its revolving restaurant (Piz Gloria) I forgot to mention that the Piz Gloria became world famous overnight thanks to one of the most famous James Bond movies 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', in which Sean Connery left his main role to the Australian actor George Lazenby, along with Diana Rigg as his female partner. This is also the reason why the name of the hideaway (Piz Gloria) of the evil Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the bald man with the white cat, in the movie, has been adopted until now to designate this famous revolving restaurant that seems to be lost in the middle of nowhere on the Alpine rooftop of Switzerland.
________-o§o- I previously also alluded to the three 4,000-meter peaks of the Bernese Alps: the Eiger (left), the Mönch (middle) and the Jungfrau (right), that were just towering not that far behind me while I was shooting the Schilthorn and Piz Gloria right across from me with my Nikon camera.
________-o§o- Here they are today, clad with their beautiful snowcoats on the eve of Halloween. In the distance, right at the feet of the ridge of the north face of the Eiger (left), you can even see a very tiny black dot (the entrance of the tunnel) under the small and last station of the highest rack-railway train in Europe that leads the passengers all the way through to the Jungfrau summit (right) inside the mountain rock, up to a station built against the vertical face of the Jungfrau overlooking the Aletsch glacier which is probably the last European remaining gigantic ocean of ice , 24 kms long and 1.5 km deep, alas slowly losing ground because of global warming. The view from the highest European railway station ( built at 3,454 m) overlooking the Aletsch glacier and the neighbouring Alpine summits is just unforgettable and breathtaking. ...
________-o§o-Thank you so much for your comments on my latest Swiss photo, I hope you'll enjoy looking at this one, that you may zoom in on, for more details and thrills ! Have a nice and artistic week, and stay safe...!

Stunning. I may try a rendering with these colors in mind. The mountains of Moria are known as The Three Peaks!

Stunning image, having lived near mountains most of my life it makes me curious if the same things occur here as did where I grew up...the mountain passes often closed due to heavy snowfall and rock slides (boulders actually) Does that occur in these beauties? Having never traveled I so very much enjoy seeing the world thru a travelers eyes...thank you for sharing and for the visit and wonderful words you leave for my art:)
