Description

(With your patience) 4 more from old, old drawings... The 1st is an old, old greeting card...yellowed and rippled. One of my first. (Pen and ink.) 2d is a rose. (It's small.) I did roses on backs of books, note pads, bills, anywhere... (Felt pen.) The 3d and 4th I repost every few years in honor of my joining RR: The 3d is my avatar. (Recognize it? This is the original.) (Colored and graphite pencils.) The 4th is three brushes. Same series. (Colored and graphite pencils.) I did scores of brush drawings years back...brushes are just beautiful to me. Even the ferrule---the metal clamp that holds the brush-strands together---is gorgeous to me. We spent weeks on just making shadows on the ferules. I adore brushes...they're so eloquent to me... All of these are 30-40 years old. ------------------ I'm commenting again, and will get you all this weekend. Thanks so much for your kindness, visits and support! It means the world to me... Have a peaceful and inspired weekend, m (fyi: "rose" comes from the same root as "rishi"---a "seer" in ancient india...in other words, it was considered a 'wise flower'...) ------------------

Wonderful. My late uncle did lots of pen and ink drawings, mostly of horses. Way back when, he worked for Disney, but eventually got homesick and left. My brother has one of his drawings and I hope his kids have kept some of the others.

Artistic art work like this never gets old, it just becomes more valuable as time goes on...its a beautiful reference point of which you can look back and admire your past accomplishments.

these are all so beautiful. the delicate touch you gave them all is really very nice. the wise rose is absolutely wonderful and the brushes are amazing. everything you touch seems to come alive and thrive and become a whole story unto itself. thanks for sharing these.

Your avatar is the reason I began following you, Back then I thought it showed a pure artist heart and now I know it does...It truly inspired me and I still get excited when I see it anywhere and have to go read what you said....that brush is full of millions of colors and words, at least it is to me:)
