Description
Terry Hall, 1959-2022. Voice of a generation. I grew up in Thatcher's Britain listening to ska and two-tone; Hall was at the forefront, adroitly expressing the social issues of the day.
For those who may be unfamiliar with him (he's not well known outside the UK I guess), he came to fame as the front man for the two-tone/ska group The Specials in the late1970s. Famed for a combination of lively dance music twinned with acerbic social and political commentary, their best known tune is probably "Ghost Town" from which this picture takes its name. Hall went on to front other commercially successful bands such as Fun Boy Three and helped launch other bands of the era such as Bananarama.
