Description

Done at work (lunchtimes again) on 2nd/3rd January. Painter 5 + Photoshop 7 with Wacom tablet. Like "Blind I" this again began life as a series of strokes made without looking (contemplating something more tender this time) which I developed into more definite forms. It's not exactly meant as a finished piece in the normal sense, more of an exercise. It could be developed further... but I'm not sure if I'd want to, or whether there would be any real purpose in doing this. Total perfection can rarely (if ever) be achieved in art... but if there's a conscious decision not to even strive for it then the results can have a fascination of their own, from not having undergone censorship in the name of it. It's not meant to be anything other than a cluster of unrelated shapes, sharing some sort of space. Maybe some text might work on it though...

Well I'd say the exercise and the image that has resulted from it examplify a very Zen philosophy...not trying to be anything, just being. This is very elegant work.

The Zen notice is absolutely apt. It also reminds me of Hokkusay's kind of lines and patterns of colouring. It is so intense dear :) but subtle and soft at once too :)

much less pornographic than Hokkusai, and a beautiful change in style. of course, I'm sure you planned for the angel who is falling towards the right edge. :) the colours are just as saturated and beautiful as I like! lovely, my friend.
