the ride in a P51 is well beyond my means, but it would be a blast. a local museum invited me out to the runway to see several take off.

Dang, I must have missed this one..... A classic T-28. These are so cool. Normally it's a trainer, but when I was in Thailand, we had a squadron of these fully armed (during the Vietnam operation). They were slow, but that was part of the attraction. They could hit small targets that the F4s would fly over, and never see. And they could carry a lot of things that would go boom.
I'd loooovvve to ride in one of these beauties!
