Brooke offered to clean up after the pizza and salads. Pixie excitedly conducted Lena to her room on the second story of the farm house. Pixie opened the door of her room and indicated a quietly humming computer and peripherals. "So what do you think of my rig, Lena?" The tired Russian sat at the keyboard and became visibly more alert and focused. "Is pretty with lights and such. But..." She opened a terminal window on the central screen and entered one command after another critically observing the results. "Has more than adequate processor, plenty of memory and much unused storage. Most important: has very good internet connection." She paused. Then she ploughed ahead, "Will need administrator level access, Pixie. Will be installing a few things that shouldn't change machine from your point of view." She steadfastly stared at the screen, not meeting Pixie's eyes. "Administrator access?" Pixie was taken aback. She weighed a growing infatuation for the exotic girl at her keyboard against the freedom such access would give Lena to make mischief. Infatuation won out. "Oh... well... sure! Sure. I trust you, Lena!" "Am grateful but should warn you will be using your machine to check on many operations am involved with. All are considered illegal and treasonous in 'Mother' Russia. Almost sure that tracking back to this IP address will not be possible." She sighed. "But cannot be completely sure of that. You are giving permission not to nice girl Lena but to known hacktivist Headcleaner. If you understand what I am saying I would not blame you for rethinking permission." Lena continued to stare fixedly at the monitor. "Uhm," Pixie played back in her mind all that had just been said. She swallowed and closed her eyes. She then opened them. "Go for it, Headcleaner." She gave the Russian a username and password. Lena nodded and began typing. She opened a virtual machine and installed Linux. Within Linux she began setting up a VPN and encryption environment that communicated with other VPNs running on various machines in Estonia and Russia. Data scrolled over the screen and she nodded. "Seems operation not compromised. Few colleagues will need telling am still alive and on line. Some other items needing attention. Perhaps a half hour. Sorry to intrude so long, Pixie." She smiled. "You are very generous. When am being done as Headcleaner, will again be Lena who is grateful exchange student and friend of Pixie Dust." Pixie had been watching in slack-jawed amazement at the activity. "Oh, Lena. Uhm... well. You're welcome!" Ghostly Grace had also been observing. "So much depth to this girl who can see ghosts!" She thought. "Much I don't understand. Computers... I can feel movement and connection. Something about the way they work I can feel but not understand." She furiously considered all that had happened since she had started following Lena. "Once I know Lena is safely asleep, I must find Elizabeth! She should be told that this girl is meddling in affairs that would be illegal in Russia!" The ghost, having departed the Van Humbeek mansion with Lena after the interview had no idea that the Professor had already been notified of the Russian girl's involvement with opposition to the government of her home country.
