Description

I had been playing around trying to kick start my creativity again after xmas, and started creating a new woodland image with my tree prop and gnarly texture set. I fancied doing a scene with Gollum from LOTR, and to aid with visualising the scene, I found a photo from the film and comped it in as a guide, I liked the outcome, so here it is! *Updated* - The comped picture of Gollum has since been removed due to questions over copyright, and will therefore remain absent until replaced with a near identical digitally painted one! ;) Meanwhile, work on a Poser Gollum continues...slowly! :) Rendered in Bryce, Photoshop for the comping and DOF effect.

After reading everyone else's comments I realize the Gollum is a pic. Still, you've done a lip-smacking job!

WWOOOWWWW!!! Really impressive. Great textures and great models. The musrooms seem a little bit less 'integrated' into the scene, but that's the only omperfection I could find.

Judith - fair point, but this is only a visual for a more detailed, painted piece, posted because I liked it. If I had tried to deceive anybody with the characters originality or source, there would be cause to 'cry foul', as it stands, it's like any other composited 'fan art' out there, except that the rest of the scene is entirely my own creation. :)

Well since the issue of copyright has been raised several times now, and certain info pointed out from the NewLine Cinema sight, Gollum has left the building until he can be replaced by a painted one. :)

Great work Adam. I actually don't really care for a Schmeagal in this scene. It has the 'looks' all by itself. Great work!

Awesome, even without Gollum. I figured this would have something to do with LOTR. If no gollum, I think you at least have an Ent. What are you doing for the next few years? With your abilities, you could handle the whole cast! I am off to see your gallery!
