Description

Here are Fiendel, 6 years old and Riahava, 681 years old. At 6, Fifi is starting to lose her baby teeth and is waiting for her new "grown up" teeth to grow. At 681, Riahava has lost her baby teeth a long time ago. But even if you are a forever young elf, with time, your teeth wear out. So, every one hundred years or so, life is providing new ones for the Elves. But before having brand knew teeth, they have to lose the old ones. Fortunately, the process is rather fast and they don't spend too much time with holes in their smiles. The number of time an elf has lost its teeth plays a role in its place in their society. It serves as an indicator (among other things) that he/she is becoming older and that new responsabilities can be given to them. Life is good with the Elves, because even if they lose a tooth by accident, this one will be replace naturally after some time. But the growing process is longer than when they fall naturally. Some Wood Elves tribes are sharing their underground habitat with a colony of fairies. When it's the case, Elves are giving their fallen teeth to the fairies that use them as tools. About the Dwarves, like their whole body and bones, their teeth are very strong and wear out less rapidly. But they are also granted with a new row of teeth, when they reach the half point of their life, around 200 years old. So here it is for this piece of lore. Hope you find it interesting. I also hope Riahava will forgive me to show her this way and that I won't end with arrows in the butt cheeks. :D I am not a dentist, so if you know a little more than me, do you think one hundred years is too short for the teeth to be renewed ?
