Nadia Swinley calls round to her friend's house after school, and the two girls chat about all the things 11/12-year-old girls find interesting and important at that time of their lives. Talk eventually moves on to the upcoming No Uniform Friday being held on the last day of Summer Term in which the usual uniform all students at St Tibb's High School must wear is optional for the day and the girls may wear anything deemed decent and suitable for a school environment. However, this year there is a rumour running rampant through the entire student population claiming there is a loophole in the published guidelines allowing bikinis to be worn and this will not be in breach of any school rules. Nadia and Leigh-Anne spend a few minutes discussing how crazy such a thing would be if any of 7C (their form at St Tibb's), or indeed any student at all, turned up to school in nothing but a bikini. Nadia suspects Leigh-Anne has the same opinion as her that there is no chance she would dare try such a thing but it would be fun to see someone else do it. During a pause in their conversation, Leigh-Anne stands up. "Hold that thought, Nad," she says and quickly skips out of the room. A few seconds later, she returns and Nadia blinks in disbelief as she sees that her friend is now wearing a bikini. No! Surely not! She couldn't be... ? Nadia thinks to herself. "Are you... I mean, Leigh, seriously... Tibb's, school... just a bikini? What... ?" She tries to formulate a coherent question, shocked at what she guesses Leigh-Anne is proposing to do. Leigh-Anne grins. "Maybe!" "No way! No... just... shut up! You can't!" Nadia gasps, but wonders how awesome it will actually be if her friend does go ahead with it.
