Description

Nothing special guyz. PCloud with metaball particles, cellular bump mapping and fresnel self-illumination. All I am asking from you is if this picture has the "nanoworld through electronic microscope" feeling. Its not supposed to be a cell or something. Just an organic-looking blob. Comments rather than ratings :-)

sweet, yeah I looks totally like an electron microscope specimen. I know it's a bump map, but I'd try to get the 'nanos?' to raise off the blob a little bit more for some more definition. You go!

Very, very interesting. You know... I appreciate this kind of experimental works. The only thing I would suggest is to use more faces to get a perfect smooth blobs (I see too much corners) and... a little glow effect? I'm waiting for other works!

It was just a very quick render. The coarseness of the metaballs is around 3, that's why. I would re-render it but my poor system could not handle any more abuse. Celeron 466 with 64MB RAM???

I like it. I don't have any critiquing I can do for the piece. I'm glad you kept it black and white. It's nice, simple, and different.

From my experience(I have worked with sem and stem microscopes) I would say the image should be a little darker. Thats just how they tend to be. Other than that it looks good. Also the microscope has to be focused just like any microscope. The stuff in either the foreground or the background should be fuzzy.
