Description
Hi all
As promised, here is the final image from my first serious cinema 4D modelling project. I wanted to try Bodypaint for the textures, but had trouble getting to grips with it, so used photoshop instead and imported them as TIFFs.
I wish they had programs like these around when I was at college, It would have made my life much easier..
The final image is composited as follows:
Truck and shaders: Cinema 4D
Figures: Poser 4 and imported into Cinema 4D
Landscape: Terragen
Post rendering odds and sods: Photoshop
Well, that's about it.
Enjoy

EXCELLENT work - the terrain is GREAT, and I love the Bokeh effects on the lights at the back of the vehicle. If I may offer one minor suggestion for improvement, it would be to put some tyre tracks into the dirt behind the vehicle...otherwise this is FAB!
Denb
I would expect alot more dirt on an off-track vehicle like that one. Otherwise excellent modeling and design.

Agree with Eugene. The teragen background is exelent. The vehicle design is great. Nice work. Cheers, pingo.

I like your work !

Great work in every detail, looks like a cover illustration to a sci-fi book, very professional. I have to agree with the above to add the tire tracks. Excellent.

if you have Unreal Tournament 2003, run VehicleDemo.ut2 from your maps directory, and you can play this image!!!

Excellent stuff. Get it sent to the 3D World gallery.

Very tastefully done- pity about the poser guy, it doesn't look quite right. The landscape and truck are great - nice texturing.

really love this. know exactly what you mean about wishing for this wonderful kit when you where in college. Young kids today don't know how lucky they are. we had to use brushes!Imagine that...I thought this was Mars, that is why I keep wishing that the figures had nice white space suits on

Thanks for the comments everyone, I will respond to a few if I may: EugeneTooms Yep, I do have a version with the tracks on ( they are quite faint ), and being an idiot I uploaded the wrong image. I may upload again if I make any other improvements ( time permitting ) Denb I did have a version with more dust on the vehicle ( mainly on the glass ) but I could not get the result I wanted ( it just didnt look right ) so I left it as is, so while it is not strictly accurate it produced a better final image. MartinK Good point. I'm not spectacularly happy with the figures either, but I have only used Poser a few times, and the version I have wont work in OSX with the cinema 4D plugin, so posing the figures accurately was infuriatingly difficult, so I left it as is. As soon as Curious labs get a Mac OSX version available for Poser 5 I will get it and hopefully improve. As this image was just an excercise to learn Cinema 4D I didn't want to go and spend a load on Poser props. I may go back and put a load of postwork on the figures when I get some time. Other than that thanks for all the comments, they have given me plenty to think about. I will post any new stuff I do here first. Later Compelman
