I've not seen this anime but I've heard about it. From what I've heard I'm assuming some water has been recently involved. XD

This show was hugely popular in Japan, made by the infamous Rumiko Takahashi, one of the most notorious comics authors from Japan. IMHO, this was one of her last good shows, and even this has outstayed its welcome by running for more seasons than necessary. If you watch the first 3 seasons, you will be in for a "Takahashi Magic" treat. The cast is ridiculously large, varied, and hilarious. The stories are creative and well written.
It was Anime's grandfather, Go Nagai, who first introduced gender swapping to Anime back in the 1970s, but in this show, Takahashi has greatly expanded the theme by diversifying the idea into other areas. So, it is not original, but it's definitely unique on its own wacky right. ^___^
