Description
My posthumous tribute to Ariel, who was recently sacrificed at the woke altar. Originally written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen in 1837, her tale incorporates Nordic cultural influences, including the setting, landscapes, and characters. Andersen didn't explicitly describe her physical appearance, so I am using the Disney artistic interpretation from 1989 that has become widely recognized worldwide.
Since 1913, "The Little Mermaid" has become an inseparable part of Nordic literature and cultural heritage. It is cherished and revered within Nordic countries, making a significant contribution to the region's literary legacy. The statue of Ariel, standing at the shores of Copenhagen, has captivated generations of tourists as an iconic landmark.
Beyond the Nordic countries, the cultural and artistic impact of "The Little Mermaid" has transcended borders, gaining global recognition and inspiring adaptations across various media platforms. Nonetheless, its Danish origins and profound cultural resonance can still be traced back to its Nordic roots.
