Description

Although rush hour was ending, there continued to be significant traffic on the streets of downtown River Heights. Pixie braked the tiny car hard to avoid running down a funny looking animal that had escaped from it's owner. "Booba! Come back you naughty thing! Dagnab it, come back!" the young woman pursuing the dog exclaimed as she chased it heedless of her own safety in the dense traffic. Pixie shook her head in disgust. "I might've run down that girl and her silly pup if I didn't have the finely tuned reflexes of a professional level gamer!" Lena giggled in response. "Look! There's some cops up there that ignored the whole business. Police! Useless!" she continued in disgust. "At home in St. Petersburg is much alike. Contact with police best avoided even when convinced one is in the right. Perhaps not same here in America." Lena allowed. "Eh. I hate to say it but here in the good ol' U S of A it depends a lot on the circumstances. In this case, we've little to fear from our friends who 'serve and protect'." Pixie sighed and then brightened. "Dang! A parking spot; and, right next to the bank! How lucky is that?" Pixie easily parked the tiny car and got out. Lena gathered an envelope of paperwork she thought would be helpful to establish bank accounts. "Any advice about banks, Pix?" she asked. "Advice? Hmmm. Here's an important bit of advice: don't use me for a reference," Pixie replied. Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered with Poser 13.0.339 and tweaked for noise reduction in the Superfly Cycles X rendering engine; further tweaked to add a very subtle vignette in Photoshop. Vladlena is based upon Ali's Bella 1.2, Pixie is based upon Project Evolution One, the running girl is based on Dawn and her silly little dog is Booba. The other figures are various low rez figures available at DAZ and elsewhere. Notably, a dark-skinned version of Pauline that is included with Poser is visible in two of the images. The setting is by TruForm as is the tiny car. Thanks to Flink for a great sky. #VladlenaB

Typically well done. Story don't hurt, neither :)

Somehow having lens and Pix outside adds a little depth to their appearance - kinda like the way gingers look so much redder in sunlight (he-he). Composition is extensive and immersive.

Pix needs one of those Jag S1 E-types or a Hemi 'Cuda just 'cause. Radar likely has one of the latter stashed somewhere...:)

Thank you, JD. It's so nice to get a comment. I do this mostly for my own satisfaction but I enjoy validation and encouragement as much as the next girl. =)

Outside in bright sunlight is easier for real photography and the same holds true for a physics based simulation of light and material like Superfly Cycles X. Ideally I would have had light over my shoulder (as the photographer) hitting the subjects obliquely from the front but as a concession to the scene as I set it up, the lighting is a little less than ideal coming, as it does, over Pixie's shoulder putting her face in the shadow. All of the indirect light reflecting off the pavement and the buildings keeps the shadow from being too dark though... hence, my thinking that outside in bright sunlight is easier.

As for their vehicle? It's Brooke's tiny car that Pixie pressured her into lending them for the day. Pixie does have some pretty muscular rides in some of the games she plays but doesn't currently own a vehicle and counts on her room mate for rides and the loan of the tiny car. XD

Beautiful story and location. looking at the dog made me want to buy some morphs for the Hivewire Dog. I really like the Greyhound and the Jack Russell :) Similar to the Pug there is the Chug.

Thank you! It's hard to believe the story of Vladlena's odyssey has been going on for upwards of fifty installments. >.< I get a kick out of the Booba figure; it's not quite realistic but it's SO cute. XD

Pedestrians and other extras add a lot to the scene, the city feels alive. I like the Mr. Putin on Lena's shirt (by her context?), those little things add a lot!

Thank you! As a Russian dissident, Vladlena supports the music and video work of Pussy Riot and the image on her tee shirt is from their recent video/song "Putin's Ashes". I'm so delighted that you find all the little details in my images. Many of them I labor over for hours adding little bits like the pedestrians. =)

Until now I had always thought of pug dogs as unathletic, it's very funny how he can dash. That pug model is cute, I think of using it myself ... Pixie does not seem to be a good reference, I wonder why? I really like this Lena story!

Thanks, Anne! I really enjoy telling the story of Lena's odyssey! Pixie probably has engaged in some shady activities online and is, like most students, very dependent on credit cards and loans. If you are wanting to get a bank account, someone like Pixie who is in so much debt is likely not boing to be viewed by the bank as a good, responsible reference. ;-) I thought I'd giver her character the kind of insight that advise Lena of how little banks think of people who are in deep debt.

The pug/chug is so cute and having him scamper away from his owner had me giggling even as I set up the scene to render. I am pleased that it tickled you and many of the other people who have commented on the images. =)

A fun scene with plenty of action, Molly! Most delightful views! I guess Pixie isn't the best reference for loan application either? LOL! Great stuff! Most enjoyable read and views!
