Description
I saw your post of the XK150 and couldn't resist posting one of my old drophead. This one was built in February 1958 and took fourteen years to restore, fighting the whole way. The photo was taken by the people who purchased it from me. They insisted on keeping my license plates. I think it ended up in Europe.

if the Jaguar was restored, it was done to the highest standard
jdwtrxk
It was. The convertible top was made from the last bolt of original Jaguar mohair which took years and a little luck to find. When it was first judged, the supposed experts wanted to deduct it as it didn't match the modern fabric everyone else uses. Also wanted to deduct for the hand 'washed' interior leather matched to the salesman's fabric sample from December '57 because it didn't match the current baseball glove colored leather. It goes on and on...
I had 400 hours of labor in it myself. Research and sourcing was worse..

Fantastic Jaguar, I'm a huge fan of the Jaguar E-type (the one from Diabolik) 👍🙋♂️
jdwtrxk
Thanks Saby - The E-type was a bit sportier than the 150, which was sort of a refined boulevard version of the 120....

Dang! I don't know much about automobiles as I have noted before but I know what's really beautiful; I love the finish, lines and detailing.

jdwtrxk
Thanks Molly - took years to get the thing right.

A real beauty, it's safe to say we don't make them like this anymore, not by a long shot.
jdwtrxk
Thanks, blu. The amount of handwork that went into building XKs could not be priced today, but current vehicles are a lot more reliable :).
Radar_rad-dude
A real beauty of a car, my friend! I'm betting it was hard for you to part with it! Thanks for sharing!
