Your writing skills are exceptional, and the pacing was spot-on. It's only my opinion, but I like the left-justification much better. It looks like one of those old young teen adventure novels that had an illustration on each page. Fantastic work on this.

Like many stories based on the conflict between the forces of good and evil, the hero doesn't often know her/himself who the others that enter their life may be connected to... and even then, allegiances could change without warning.
Though Kara will meet many that will ally with her, there will be some that won't... and of course the ones that pretend to be ally (or enemy), only to prove their true character at a later time to everyone's surprise.
