I know how you feel. Times they are a changing, not necessarily for the good. I love to create but it seems fruitless to be here. I have learned a lot from your art and hope you and yours the best.

Why? :-( Why is it every time I happen to visit this site, an artist which I admire, announces that they are leaving or planning to soon leave...this saddens me very much! While I am in complete agreement to the many reasons of why you are doing so, I just want you to know that I somehow wish things were different for you here on this site.

Artists like you my friend is what makes this site a fun experience for the many that visit here...what will this site look like when everyone we care about is gone? That is a question each one of us must ask ourselves before this site becomes an empty vessel, devoid of any artistic substance!

I will be uploading an animation later on today, I will then leave more concerning this subject. I have my own personal opinions but just did not want to hijack your farewell message any further. I am going to miss you making a bowl of popcorn while you watch my humble short animations. :-(

Really great image but really sad news, as well. But, I do agree with your assessment. Rendo is no where near what it used to be. I think it's got a lot with their messaging. I feel like I am only creating art for my own amusement. 5-10 years ago getting 100 or more views per image was typical. 30 is a really high number for me now! I hope you reconsider and keep posting your works.

Its become cold like other sites...lost that community feel for me for now and once I overcome that, I am sure I will return once more. Thanks for dropping by :)

Excellent looking image great atmosphere and lighting.

Life gets in the way and unless you are retired or working part time creating something can be difficult. I have dreamed about becoming a professional animator and even went to school in Arizona. Life happened and the dream died, and yes, I have regrets. I do come here to look at what others have created and comment on their work and some of them are off the chart. When I find the time to create something I may or may not post it. I have several creations I have just saved on my computer and may never post. I have only been a member of Renderosity since 2010. I really have not paid any attention to Renderosity just to the images people are posting so I have had no real issue with them. I just click on the Activity Feed and Notifications. If someone takes the time to comment on my posting, then I will comment on their posting. I will still post something from time to time because I really like Poser, Daz and Blender, however, I like riding my motorcycle and flight simulator and watching movies etc. Never seems enough time to do the things you really like doing. I really think you are an amazing artist, and you have some postings that are off the chart. I hope you will get your muse back soon and try not to think about Renderosity and just enjoy posting and commenting when you find the time.

Thank you for the kinds words and advice on how to bypass the boredom, I will be giving that process some serious thought. It's people like you that make my art what it is, the people who take the time to comment, encourage, inspire me to create what I have created so if my art is off the charts then that is because of you guys :)

Its becoming a cold place where quantity has replaced quality and when the time is right for me I will return and embrace the works I have grown to love and be inspired by by the people I consider friends, you guys here right now who have taken the time to be here :)

So sorry to see you go, but I can certainly understand your feelings and reasoning. I've considered doing the same myself a number of times lately. I wish you well, and hope you do stop by from time to time. Maybe things will improve here, but I'm not holding my breath.

To those at the top; those who make all the major decisions... This is EXACTLY what I've been trying to get across to you. The artists that actually CARE about their art, rather than seeing their name at the top of some list are becoming discouraged and leaving. But when I make suggestions, the only action that occurs is getting myself banned for a week.

I'll still be here, and I'll still be posting, at least for now.

Thanks Rod...Takes me 3 to 4 days to get a render built from start to finish and try to do it in a way that minimal or no postwork needed. I try to get every work to tell a story in its own right, to escape inside my head so to speak....lol,,,but I need it the be the best I can present with the limited skills I have.

Used to be a picture would paint 1000 words and now it takes 1000 words to paint a picture...lol How's that for progress? (Joking in a way, there are a couple of AI artists I view and enjoy seeing) Thanks for dropping by :)

Damn Steff?!? I'm heart broken.... but I completely understand your views, and agree. I haven't posted anything since the beginning of the month just because, like what's the use. I just stopped in today to see what's up, and saw your comment on one of Poser4me renderings and said; "What did Steff just say?" Anyways, I'm still creating, just not posting. I'm feeling the same way as you with all of the mediocracy and mass flooding redundancy being uploaded by certain people. It's stifling and clogs other artist's work from being noticed.
You have and always will be an inspiration to me. Hope to see your work again and hear from you.

Crap! I almost forgot, I love this render of a wingless spirit carrying their light to another land. It reminds me of the Elves leaving Middle Earth in Lord of the Rings. Well so much which needs to be said is so often unsaid. However you have said a lot in your art.

I haven't been here for very long so I have not seen the changes you are referring to. But I do get what you mean. I became very disillusioned with Deviant Art for the same reasons. I haven't been back since I don't know when.

I feel saddened by the news of your forthcoming leaving Renderosity, but I understand and share your bad feelings about the evolution of the site, what it used to be and what it has become. For the same reason, I too almost closed my gallery, and went to see if the grass was greener and more welcoming elsewhere than in Renderosity. Most of the photographers from ten years ago have almost all deserted the website, and the solidarity and respect between photographers, the spirit of emulation and support, the mutual comments, etc., all this in the world of photography on Renderosity resembles an iceberg in the middle of the pack ice that has already melted and disappeared. I'm still here, even if I'm nostalgic for a blessed time when photography on Renderosity was thriving, inspiring, friendly, rich in exchanges between artists. Even if I'm the last of the Mohicans, I still believe in what I can bring to others and myself in this field. It's not always easy, but it's worth a try! Good luck to you, and think twice once more, before turning over the page to something else...

I totally agree with Rod and Lyla, I've had to put up with a lot here, but I'm still here because of the few friends I have left after my forced vacation of 1 month. My health is really not good, because a muzzle like this robs you of the air you need to breathe over time. Have a few nice days, as far as you can after the loss of your father, I'll send you a gentle virtual hug and come back soon!

Wonderful creation, as always. I totally get what you are saying. I don't plant to post here anymore, and I stumbled upon this post of yours by accident. The site is just not the same at all anymore, not for users, artists and vendors. It's changed in the worst way possible. I remember when this was full of life, full of artists sharing, commenting, encouraging, all in all just a fantastic community. I fear those days are gone for good, as all good things must end. Be well lady, I hope your heart's grief lightens in time, as it should.
