Description

Team M.A.N.P.O.W.E.R. (Militant Action Neuro-Powered Operative Wildly Enhanced Reactionaries) is a group of super-heroes inspired by the “Fantastic Four,” “Challengers of the Unknown,” and the “A-Team.” They are a group of five who are more than just teammates - they are also friends and family, with two of their members being actual half-sisters. Before gaining their powers, they were a team of “many talents,” that started with just two members, Hogan Oxford, and his long-time girlfriend, Sara Rogert, Sara, joining Hogan in his life as an adventurer after meeting him and falling in love. Later on, Hogan’s old friend Harold Lloyd joined the duo after asking for their help in rescuing his own girlfriend, Jaymie Moore, who just happened to be Sara’s long lost sister, who had taken a wrong turn in her life and became under the control of a ruthless terrorist organization against her will. Harold & Sara’s love for Jaymie allowed her to break free from their control, and she joined up with Harold as well. The final member, being the alien entertainer and showman, Zarn Pabis, a Vegtanian Elf, who had met Hogan on one of his many adventures. Together they would use their various skills to do anything from stopping evil doers of all kinds, to retrieving artifacts and other valuable items for people, to just helping the unfortunate out of dangerous situations. They didn’t really have any “codenames” before becoming super-powered, but after getting the “Manpower Chips” placed in their heads, they came up with the idea to take the source of their powers and apply it as a kind of “badge of honor” as an affront to the villains that tried to use the chips against them, as it ended up becoming a boon rather than a detriment in spite of some of their changes being more severe than others, as each member has taken their changes in stride and opted to make the best of it no mater what. Their team logo is representative of the chips themselves, and they turned the word “Manpower” into an acronym that perfectly states who and what they are now. Plus, each of them has taken a heroic pseudonym beginning with the prefix “man” that describes who they are and what they do. And, although each of them has a form of control as their super-power, with some of them being more powerful than the others, they are friends and family, and would never use their abilities against each other to gain an upper hand against each other ever. This image shows the whole team together in front of their headquarters, M.A.N.P.O.W.E.R. Tower, which resides in the fictional city of USA City, in Colorado. It is touted as the largest and most technologically advanced city on Earth in the future setting of the Coolstar Comics Universe. The design of the building comes from a mockup that I did of the city, and I picked out a building that I drew in the skyline with that disk shape at the top that I thought resembled their logo a bit, which as I've stated, harkens back to the design of the chips that were placed into their heads. Kind of a round about way of doing things, I know, but it works for me.
