Description
This is my second entry for the Pinup contest, and once again I turned to an old vintage pinup for inspiration.
Just like for the the other image, the first step was picking a similar dress and checking to see that I could get it to work with the pose. Once again it was a lot easier than I expected although I did have issues with the dress going right through her left thigh (added some screenshots where it can be seen). It doesn't show in the render so I didn't worry about it, but am curious to know why that happens when the dress is set to collide with her body parts. Maybe it was the extreme pose? (I actually had to add an intermediate pose to get the dress to fall to the side first and then drape on the floor, because in my first attempt the dress bunched up in the area under her chest without resting on the ground.) Also, I would have liked a longer dress so there would be more of it draping on the ground like in the original image, but the longer dresses I had were a completely different style so I settled for this one even though it was rather short.
As for the character, I used Aphrodite Ohki's Debora skin texture again, but the facial morphs are the original La Femme morphs with some minor adjustments. The expression was a lot easier and I didn't need to tweak it in Photoshop this time like I did for the last render.
No Boston Terrier puppy available but the Hivewire Black Lab came to the rescue.
I had a lot of fun making these two, it's like working on a puzzle. Sure, the original idea wasn't mine but it's fun having to dig through your hard disk to find what you need and then work on the pose and putting it all together. Kind of like working on a puzzle. I think I may do more of them since I did select a few pinups that I liked when I was looking for examples.
Again, thank you for stopping by and for taking the time to read. :)

Thank you so much! This one was also a lot of fun to make!

Troubleshooting the cloth room can be hit or miss. Two possibilities I can think of are the leg was colliding with the skirt to begin with. Or you need more frames to get into the pose. Extreme changes in movement need more time to drape so the cloth can keep up.
The image is great. I enjoyed seeing it in the contest and glad to see it here
RubyTuesday70
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for your feedback on the cloth room too!
I will keep in mind that I need more frames in certain situations. Sometimes I try so many things at once that it's hard to remember which settings I may have fiddled with that might have caused the problem (like the dynamic controls). I usually try to write things down but I made this one close to the deadline so I didn't keep track of what I did. I might actually go back and try it with a different dress or with the default settings and see what happens. I guess in this case I'm just lucky that it wasn't visible in the final render.

The cloth room is my week point. All considered he did a great job in this scene. I love the little pup's expression. Timeless.

Thank you, so glad you like the puppy's expression, I fiddled with it quite a bit!
As for the cloth room, I have to confess that I avoided it for the longest time, it just seemed too complicated. But I am also quite stubborn, so at one point I decided I just had to experiment with it and little by little I got the hang of things and now I use it very often. I have evenused genesis clothing and conforming clothing with success. But sometimes things don't go as planned, and as Red Phantom said, troubleshooting it is hit or miss.

I got the new word "Pesky" :) The girl's expression is excellent.

Thank you so much much! I will be posting a closeup of her expression soon because I think it looks even better from the front (or from above I should say).

Excellent end result, and faithful to the original. Best of luck in the contest!
RubyTuesday70
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I have been trying to be as faithful as possible to the originals, it's challenging but fun.

Nice to have you back my friend! This image looks amazing with its excellent use of color! As far as using the cloth room for simulations, I have always had great results just making sure that the dress or cloth is a good enough distance away from the collision object in order to give the dress enough frame calculations for it to have time to conform around the body part or needed collision object. Sometimes when the cloth is too close to the body part, it does not drape well and therefore you get the effect you have in your images above. I hope this helps. :-)

Thank you so much, it's great to be back and to see all my Rendo friends again.
And thanks for the advice, I will definitely keep this in mind when I'm using dynamic clothing from now on.
