Description
They walked cautious, but with ease through the heat. Their control suits under their uniforms keeping them protected from the heat of the desert.
"An hour perhaps through the pass ahead." Navarre stated as he glanced at the tricorder. "Assuming she doesn't move."
They walked for several moments in silence, only the crunch of the sand beneath their boots could be heard.
"A desolate place." La'Ahna commented. "But with a certain attraction to it."
"There are many such planets as this one." Navarre glanced at the sky. "Temperate planets are the rare ones."
"Just for conversation," She glanced over. "Where is your home, other than Qo'Nos?"
"Have no clue." Navarre frowned only slightly. He had become accustomed to not knowing the answer to that question. He merely accepted what was and did not dwell much beyond that. "But this type of environment has a familiarity to it." He grinned, "So maybe a planet much like this. And just for conversation, What would be considered your home?"
"I have no recollection of any such place. I have my knowledge skills and abilities. My life began the moment the sarcophagus was opened aboard the Orpheus. So that, and wherever you are would be my home. My very reason for existing is to serve the Hierarchy; You."
"We're going to have a much more in-depth conversation about that when we get home." He smiled, putting some emphasis on the word home.
"Having been raised by Klingons, I think you would be proud of the heritage you come from. You already practice what they stood for."
"And how so?" His curiosity was peaked now.
"They stood against injustices." She smiled. "Such as slavery and persecution."
"Hmmm." Navarre rolled his eyes. "An acquired trait passed on then." He shook his head with a laugh. "I doubt that. I'm merely just trying to make a profit and keep my ass alive. But that's an interesting thought for a later conversation." He stared at the tricorder again.
