Description
~Maetel~
I have already depicted her space pirate twin sister, Emeraldas, and the iconic Captain Harlock. Now it's time for Maetel - Leiji Matsumoto's seasoned voyager aboard the Galaxy Express 999 (1979), the legendary interstellar train. Her past and true motives are shrouded in mystery, leaving us to piece together clues throughout her intergalactic journeys.
Intriguing would be an understatement to describe her character. She can be both aloof and compassionate, radiating an aura of mystery. Driven by a personal quest, she exhibits unwavering determination, being ruthless in pursuit of her goals, while showing glimmers of kindness and empathy through her stoic facade.
She guides the protagonist Tetsuro Hoshino, a young boy who joins her on the Galaxy Express 999. Their dynamic is fascinating, with Maetel acting as both a mentor and a enigmatic companion. She challenges Tetsuro to grow and confront the harsh realities of the universe, while perusing her own secret mission.
Throughout the story, when we thought we understood what was happening, Maetel's journey keeps unveiling a series of ground-breaking revelations that gradually connect the dots for the big picture. So, although Tetsuro is supposedly the protagonist, it's Maetel who holds the power to unlock the events that unveil the Galaxy Express 999 saga.

I don't know the series but this picture looks like a screenshot ... although they of course hadn't such a high resolution by that time. LOL Good work!

Thank you! I couldn't get the right kind of train interior, but at least I've got the right seat color. ^___^

I'm not familiar with the series either, but she looks great, and I like the glimpse into her life and personality. Well done!

Thank you! This is from 1979, so most people might have never heard of it. I only came to know Galaxy Express 999 in 1985. This is definitely a masterpiece from Leiji Matsumoto, where Maetel has one of the most intriguing stories I have ever seen. ^___^
