Description

Painting you so as not to lose you
After Dante Gabriel Rossetti
What would I not have given for you to give me another smile, even just a sketch. I realize, today that you are no longer here, that I have only managed to paint the distance, your ideal beauty that escapes me. I tirelessly reread your last poem and I imagine the grace of your hands that knew so well how to transcribe that of your inspirations. So I continually scrutinize mine, I implore them to give me the strength to continue to paint you, in the hope that one day, in the light, you will emerge from the painting, towards me.

Fascinating on so many levels; the transformation from the Salutation of Batrice to Beata Beatrix, from Jane Morris to Elisabeth Siddal , giving life to the words of Dante's sonnet attached to the tree ... Wonderful work.

Thank you very much dear Joe, as you noticed by adding your own refined reading to my image, I try to make them convey stories, emotions, knowledge; sometimes I succeed.
