Having been to MANY such events, i find thisvery engaging. On the rare occasions I accept such invitations these days, i find it more entertaining wathcing the the people rather than the works on the walls!

As in the painting by Georges de La Tour, I also consider that openings are like a rigged card game where people are on show and where their number often does not allow easy access to the vision of the works. I was looking here for a moment of fragile balance, like when you start to have drunk too much: the glass of red wine is perfectly perpendicular to one of the edges of the frame, the wine is drawn, it will have to be drunk. The smile of the young woman and the transparency of her dress are engaging, yet if she moves or if we get too close the house of cards of our fabrications collapses; such is the illusion of openings.
