Description

Somewhere in Burma, P-40N Warhawks of the 89th Fighter Squadron face off two Japanese Ki-27s. Just a bit low for a tussle, and a bit too close for comfort. I'm enjoying using this P-40 model by Andreasgr (purchased at renderosity) with tons of variants. It's an amazingly accurate model filled with obsessive details, and super fun to work with. I've reworked some of the textures to my tastes of course. Hard to go wrong with it. Blender, DazStudio, a touch of PSe and noai.

Yeah, action. Well made. Is this a backdrop picture or a real landscape in DazStudio?

I used a backdrop aerial photo from textures.com. Although I often make the terrains in Daz, sometimes I can find a background photo that does the job with less stress for a long shot of the terrain. (Also less strain on my computer resources.) Whatever works for the situation!

Clouds and mist are usually added in Daz so that postwork is at a minimum, if I can help it. I'm a fine artist as well, so postwork is sometimes really easier to add stuff, but I find it more of an enjoyable challenge to do as much as I can in Daz and Blender.
