Newton's 3rd law of physics: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction; or when one object exerts a force on another, the second object exerts a force back on the first that is equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. Converted to psychology, For every emotion, there is an equal and opposite reactive emotion; or when one person exerts an emotion on another, the second person (or another person in the vicinity) exerts (or has built up the potential to exert) an emotion back on the first person (or another person in the vicinity) that is equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. I did these pictures last week, but now see that I was more focused on the other person (or Smiley face) than the one the emotion is being expressed toward...
