Description
It was just us three
alone there in the pond of life
ripples in the surface
continually trying to push us apart
sometimes succeeding for a time
but somehow we always
managed to find ourselves
back in the same calm spot
together again
But now
the ripple pushed us
to the farthest reaches of the pond
forever seperated by the depths
Sister...to the warmest pool
where the suns heat gets captured
on the surface and envelopes you
Myself....to the place under the log
where the darkness never ceases
and the water is always cold
Mom...to the river
where the current carried you away
a journey I hope to take
when the darkness under the log
sets me free
Three leaves in a pond
and a ripple the size of a tsunami
carrying one out to sea
forever tossed upon the waves...
while one sits in the darkness
surrounded by dead things
and the other bakes in the sunlight
dehydrating and dying slowly

THis made me think about my Mom and sister and I
How we were all so close while I was growing up, because my Mom was a single Mom, and she was also our best friend...and then when she died, it just seems like my sister and I floated away from each other too. We spread my Moms ashes in the river, my sister moved to Arizona and I am still here, sitting in the darkness, waitin for the current to take me away too....
ok. :S Im done being depressed now. Where are my oreos? ;)

Very touching poem and accompanying photo. Remember there are so many leaves that fall, and all are uniquely beautiful. So you must make the most of the sunshine and keep your eyes open for the others. Make the most of it, no regrets. Thank You for sharing a part of yourself.
