Description

Another space scene with more to come. I tried working on a meteor blast, but it proved very difficult, needing much post work, so I settled for this. Credits goes to Eric for him helping previously with perfecting the shading & glow tweeking, and to the NASA Blue Marble site for the wonderful earth maps they have made available. Rendered in Cinema 4D R8, no post exc. sig Thank you for viewing!

Thanks! Erik, the maps can be found here: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroom/BlueMarble/BlueMarble.html They have them in a variety of resolutions. The ones I user were huge, 2048x2048, and even higher for the cloud map as details were lost useing lesser ones for this close-up.

Too many stars are visible, especially the ones you can see trough the halo shouldn't be there. I had trouble with an 178MB Earthmap =|, weird colors on the edge and I can't open it in PS.

This is a great planet render!! - the glow and falloff on the planet are superb - the haze 'might' be a little too thick!? - I agree on the stars too. should really reduce the amount visible! -- top work!
