Description
My Great Grandmother told my Grandmother (her daughter)a story of when she was a little girl living in the rural hills of West Virginia. She said one day 2 men came to the farm she lived on and asked her mother, Anne (my Great-Great Grandmother) if they could stay on their land for the night as they where tired and had need of shelter. The only proper place for two men to stay was in the hay barn (Anne was a widow and this was 1880). So they thanked her and made off for the barn. The next morning when my Great Grandmother (Lynn) went to the barn to milk the cows she found they had not only milked the cows for her, but they had left a small bag of money. In all it was $100 which was a lot of money in 1880. A few hours after daybreak a man from the Pinkerton Detective Agency arrived on the farm with a wanted poster of 2 men. The wanted men were Frank and Jesse James. Although Anne and Lynn recognized the two men as the two that had stayed in the barn that night, they both felt the James Brothers had been too kind for them to tell this man, so Anne told him that no, she had never seen these men. This story has been handed down to my Grandmother, who in turn told me after I took a job when I was 21 for the Pinkerton Detective Agency :)
Tech Notes:
Creation Time: 2 weeks, Roughly 76 hours
Render Time: 1h 23 minutes
Tools Used: Vue d'Esprit 4 and Paint Shop Pro 7
577 Objects, 9.3 Million Polygons
This is my first non-landscape render with Vue and was actually a lot more work than I intended.
The following objects where outside 3DS objects:
Step Ladder, Large ladder, Revolvers, gunbelts, broom, wagon, and cig
Frank and Jesse were created by me in Poser 5
The haybails, buckets, concrete blocks, barn, glass bottles, floor, and barrels where all made in Vue d'Esprit. Interesting note is I made the haybails with Terrain objects.
A lot of work went into getting the night grainy feel to the picture and to keep the objects and quality of objects consistant with the time period. Lighting as always was a challenge.
I look forward to any comments.

I can't understand why no one has not commented on this image. I think it is very good and like the mood it sets.

Well thanks greasewood and and woodhurst :) You win some, you loose some I guess. Another problem is I have my monitor set-up for 1.8 gamma which is the standard for PC monitors. If someone's monitor is too dark they may not be able to see much detail in the image, hence they won't see much to comment about.
