a pepsi can i did to learn some basics of texture mapping in 3ds max 5.

You need to increase the resolution on your pepsi bitmap and maybe adjust the anti-aliasing. Increase the gloss and add some very slight bump to make the surface look more realistic. The metal top looks a bit thick for a standard drinks can.....keep going.

Still, that metal looks great (even more because youre quite new to the 3ds max 5 as well as I...?), way more realistic than mine.
