Description
Situated in Ballarat, Victoria, this picturesque lake is dotted with quaint boat houses around its shores.
The original 3" x 5" image was painted for my Mum for Mother's Day in 1998. I'm not really that happy with it now as it ended up quite muddy. I now know a lot more about how colour works and hardly ever use black. Thanks to Dad for scanning it.

Well it looks quite vibrant to me! The colour has more depth than normally seen in most watercolour, this is a really nice scene, captures the character of the place.

The first contact I had with this kind of colouring was when I saw paintings of Tadashi Asoma for the first time. And I think you have done a very good image here.

You brilliant girl. We lived in Ballarat for many years and you've captured the spirit of Lake Wendouree perfectly here.
