Description

I am afraid, in a month, similar scenes will be lived in Iraq if U.S. doesn't stop attacking. Regardless of the sides, many innocent civilian people will die tragically including the little girl dropped her teddy bear on the street covered with blood while trying to escape from the bombing U.S. fighters... May Allah save all the innocent people in this war and punish all who are guilty !

I hope US will wake from his slumber, catch the warning from God 4 days ago... Noone can kill innocent people such a dishonorable way, telling everyone that Saddam is a global threat. The greatest threat to world is US himself, fought in almost 22 nations from 1945 til today. Including Japan (1945), China (45-46, 50-53), Guetamala (54, 67-69), Cuba (59-60), Peru (65), Vietnam (61-73), Grenada (83), El Salvador (80), Panama (89), Korea (50-53), Indonesia (58), Belgium Congo (64), Laos (64-73), Cambodgia (69-70), Afghanistan (2002), Somalia (91-92), Sudan (98), Iraq (91-2001)... Do i have to say more ?

I really hope that war won't happen. I think that war should be a very last option. But it is an option. I completely, but respectfully disagree with purpleye mary about the "US being the greatest threat to the world" ,that's absurd! War will happen, hopefully not now, as it has in the past. In fact it's been happening in other nations. Of course the US took part of many because it had/has the power to do so. I can't imagine how it would be if any of the Middle Eastern nations would become the "World Power". There will always be a dominant nation, I'm just glad it's the lesser of many evils.

Warfare, by its nature, produces casualties. The nature of human beings is to struggle against sameness, to establish identity unique and different. Doing so will cause conflict. Money, Love, Power, Territory,Hate -- you name it, it has been fought over. There will always be war. And there will always be casualites. Innocence and right are a matter of perspective.

Well, at least this piece has stirred some emotions,.......was this not the original reason humankind began to create works of art in the first place ? As for the work itself,....it's flat, needs depth on the blood and turn down the bumpmap on the bear. As for the sentiment,....I tend to agree with Alvin, as for purpleeye mary,....yeah , I read the report by the Union of Concerned Scientists too, and read Mr Vidal's book. When you relie on the veracity of one source, you may not have all the facts right. Both make some valid points, but to suggest that the the U.S. decsion to drop the atom bombs, thus bringing the war to a quick and descisive finish, saving many Allied and Japanese lives, was wrong, is beyond my comprehension. (Geez I sound old !!) To finish(then I'll shut up) I remind you of the words of Sir Edmund Burke,....."All that is needed for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing". Was that pompous enough for you ?

purpleeye, from your horrible (and REAL!) list you left out Nicaragua (where the CIA-trained soldiers made a real carnage of children and civilians for years) and the recent Serbia. --- Thanks for the image and the message, Dhurak, it's about time someone muster the courage to post something. I've seen far worse image than this, yet is ranked "Needs Touch-Ups", my suspect is that the ranking is strongly biased by the message you conveyed and, maybe, by the fact you're a muslim. Alas, I don't think your image is excellent, because it's a little too flat and it's not dramatic as it should be, but I'd rank it "Good", not less. The reflected expression of the child is sad and beautiful. For the message, you have my "excellent": the middle-way is a "Great", which, IMO, is the rating you deserve. -- Continue posting, please.

how i wish that people who are calling for war are in Iraq, and live the real war, feel the fear of death, smell the burning flesh and see the chopped off bodies :( those who are after war do not have any idea what a real war is. It is not like in Hollywood movies you watch in your peaceful home with cornflakes and coke in your hand. so before calling for war, switch the sides, be the weak side of the war, feel that, and then call out for it. Saddam is a disaster, so please kill him not 10 innocent and 1 guilty.

The US was the weak side once. It was called the American Revolution. We almost didn't win. Why should we go back? If the US is so evil why do you use what it created (computers, internet, etc)? I find it interesting that the so-called compassionate are so ready to bitch about the US yet won't left a finger for the atrocities done in North Korea or Iraq. They agree Saddam is evil, but what are they doing about it? Good image. I thought it came out well. The title is apped because its happenning already in Iraq. Families, including the children, are forced to watch the execution of family members. @purpleeye_mary: I think it is poor taste for anyone to use the Columbia tragedy to oppose action against Iraq. Robertson and Farwell did a similar thing after 9/11 (God allowed it to happen to punish the immorality of America), and they were both slammed in the media. If you believe the Columbia tragedy was a sign of God, then do you agree with Robertson and Farwell about 9/11?

DhurakhapalaM: I was in the service before, during, and after the Gulf War. I was in Bosnia. I "have" seen this "real" war. I have seen what Saddam has done to others in his own country. I have seen what others did to Bosnians. If you think it will all go away if the UN, not just the US, stands down, you are an narrow minded idiot. For all of you anti-war artists out there, send the images and requests to Saddam. He is the one killing people. While you are at it, send them to Bosnia, South Africa, Korea, China, etc... Tyrants, terrorists, and criminals are everywhere. Sackrat hit it right on the nose. Everyone sat around and tried diplomacy with Hitler and look what his ambission did for the world.

Hold your mouth ! Pay attention to your words. If there are idiots around, those people are Bush and his warmongers. I do not like Saddam, so if you want to kill him, just kill him and his service, not 10 innocent and a guilty.

I normally don't get into this but you seem bent on making a point. If you don't want war then I suggest the people of Iraq get off their behinds and get Saddam out of there. But they can't can they? They are scared, repressed and executed in horrible ways for even thinking of disposing him. So that leaves someone else to take out the tyrant but it's not possible to just take him out. he has an army and like most cowards goes into hiding using innocent civilians (his own people) as human shields. Yes innocents die in war. How many innocents has Saddam killed, how many does he kill everyday. Which is the lesser of 2 evils? War can be prevented, it's rather simple. All Saddam has to do is disarm and stand down.
