Description

Compare this to "Buzz in Space", and see which one you prefer. This time, the terrain is a composite of two Terragen renderings, so I could add some distant lunar mountains. Plus, the Earth is a considerably more time-intensive rendering in Bryce 5 due to the addition of a haze layer. You will notice that this "photo" must have been taken near the lunar north pole, a location that no astronaut has yet visited. (Oh, yes, and please pay no attention to the reflection in the astronaut's visor!)

If I were critiquing my own work -- which I am -- I would say that colors are also pretty good. My main disappointment with the current iteration of this picture is that the surface does not have any craters and there are no surface rocks. Playing with the surface texture a bit more might get some semblance of rocks into the pix. Also, importing a elevation map from Mars might provide some decent craters. It will be great when Terragen can add such goodies. Also, the Earth is intentionally too large; that was for dramatic effect. I would guesstimate that it should be about half the angular size of the astronaut's helmet. But, I still like my pix.

yes, Michael you made a wonderful picture (as the previous). I do not know that much about astronomy but this gives me a very good "in space" feeling. BTW. is that a face reflecting in the astrunauts helmet?? :-) Cool with the added terrain features and the coloring + light is wonderful.
