Description
According to our guide it was the most beautiful girl of the village :)
Shot in the Kayan longneck village in the north of Thailand. These people are refuges from Birma and now live about 4 kilometers from the border with absolutely no support from the Thai government.
Note: The long neck is only an illusion. It's not the neck that stretched, but the shoulders that are malformed and pushed down due to the weight of the metal rings (actually 1 long spiral) which has a weight of about 4,5 to 5 kilograms. Only children that are born under a full moon get these rings at the age of 6.

cynlee: yes the women that wear those rings are very proud actually. They're concidered more beautiful than other women of their tribe that don't have those rings and are more interesting to the men of their tribe :)
