BobbyStahr aka Robert Purves was seduced into computers late in life(age 45) by a free Amiga 1000 that I needed to transcribe music with. When that was done one thing led to another and 18 months later due to a need for speed and Imagine porting over I jumped to a pc. Never looked back happy to say. I play no games, have no business software, just art and music. BIO I use Imagine a lot, Photoshop quite a bit, Vue6I PLE a bit also, and have played a bit with the free ver. of Cinema4D, and am recently enamored of the new TG 3 Free. I also write copious amounts of music in an awesome and inexpensive music writing software called MelodyAssistant, available at http://www.myriad-online.com The hyphen is part of the URL. Highly reccomended to anyone, musician or not. I got into art from sports at an early age when I discovered I was more into cooperation than competition...my mission statement is" Never go straight.....Go Forward...."

Yes the ground is a bit flat, but the bumpmap on the box side as well as the decoration on the cover are nice.

richard...those are modelled features...NO bump maps were used, and it is a work in progress, guess i shoulda put that in the title.the floor is there to reflect in the box,it's a trick i use when testing to make sure the geometry is good.i could have used checks but there would have been even more comments on the floor...lol,and no one even mentioned the OBVIOUS flaw, the way the lid intersects the box wherer it opens....sigh.am building a hinge for that area as in the real box.peace all

I like it. You have obviously put a lot of work into the raised details. It's always harder to make a digital model accurately represent a real object than some fictional object.

Modelled, Wow what was the point count. I'd love to see a bigger image when it is done. very nice work as usual.

Hi, Bobby, superb modelling, as usual! Have you tried the Antique texture- which works quite well for 'metallic' objects?
bobbystahr
hmmmm...i might just cuz upon closer inspection there are many places where the gold paint has worn off....gold paint..now there's an attribute setting i'd like to have....the metallic gold procedural is too damn shiny/reflective and gold paint ain't..thanx for the comments mate...
