Description

Modeled and rendered in LightWave, zero postwork (except for the presentation layout). Thanks to the inspirational animation work by petes, I've decided to go back to work on "Dystopia" and do a little playing with some pollution. I had lots of help from chemicalbrother, wgreenlee1, Fillingim and pnevai with the hypervoxels, wind and the lighting settings. With the help of the G2 plug-in from Worley Labs, I was able to reduce rendering time from over three-hours to just under 15 minutes. This scene has 261 objects with 1,070,268 polygons and 1,396 different surfaces. Please let me know what you think. Thank you very much for taking time to view, and for all your support.

Very nice work :) Respect!!!! cities take a huge amount of time and talent to create when they looks this good. A few critiques try and create a more contrasting light the lower part of the city is teh sam brightness as the top/higher buildings. a good way to create a sort of gi effect is to use a hemisphere of spotlights. mess about with that idea :) maybe have a wider angle zoom on teh camera to. But thats really is awesome work !!!!!!!!!! Patients you must have

Holy toledo, this is amazing. Nice POV and DOF. The smoke in the background is simulated nicely and the arena or dome, or whatever it is, looks impressive.

I love it. I've always liked dystopic cities and post-apocolyptic ruins. This is looking really good as both. :) Great work.

Very cool Moe! I've always liked the varied buildings in your Dystopia. The architecture has the great look of an evolving city-from the square and blocky to the round and other odd shapes. Excellent work!

Wow moe, you really have been a busy boy lately. Love all the detail! Are you going to add some cars and people to it later? The only critcism I could possibly levy is such a wonderful city deserves a better sky, and distant background. Looks like a default graident background with a default sky tracer. Make the rest of the image as dramatic and stunning as the city itself. Awesome job Moe.
