I haven't found the best way to do hair to date, but this is sharp as it stands.

When I see stuff like this , it makes me want to format my harddrive. So long to go, and such a short time to get there. Great work, love the char.

Now that's one cool cowboy :) I'm not that experienced in hair but you can either go the polygonal way or use splines (Paul Everett's Solid Spline Pro or Hair Department comes to mind). But I think you should leave him bald and go for something like ThirdEye's character "Alexandre" -- http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=310377&Start=13&Sectionid=19&BestRanking=Yes

Wow, nice work. Is it all Cinema or did you do the face in another proggy? I think that unless he's gonna be animated hair is best in Photoshop as post effects w/paths and painted with multi colored artistic brushes. Maya fur or Lightwave's Sasquatch is best for hair in 3D. There might be a way to create the hair in Cinema (rough) and save for After Effects, then do the post-fx in AE for animation.

Hi, thanks for your remarks, in the end i used the Hair plugin, got resonable results. Still some final tweaking on the eyes, then it's time to put it to bed. DB.
