Looks very promising. I would suggest a distant light to illuminate earth a bit more, also perhaps adding a earth glow effect. I'll post a tutorial soon on this for a technique that audity showed me.

the problem about the glow effect is that i have another sphere used for my cloud map and if i add a glow effect to the "normal earth" it is invisible
