Description

Based on an image by a guy called Yanick Dusseault, who did work on Lord of the Rings, and I believe now works for ILM. I think his work was digitally painted, and I was curious to see if I could reproduce something similar in Bryce. The level of detail in his work is far greater, and I'm disappointed in the way the Poser figures appear, but on the whole I'm pleased with the result. My thanks to Transpond at RDNA for the tropical plant life. The survey craft was built using primitives. I'm working on another jungle pic at the mo and that looks like it could be better (Although it's early days yet) - watch this space. Thanks for looking - Ian

T H I S is very good, excellent in fact. Great creation of the environment they're in. I'm not into the sci-fi scene, but I love this image. Wonderfully successful effort!

The only thing that you would might to change about the Posers is the ambiance-- looks a little high. Bryce by default gives imported Posers too much ambiance, and you can just go into the materials lab and shut it off. Then again, it looks like reflected light here so it doesn't bother me. (Another thing to play with when you want some fake radiosity is turn off ambiance and turn up reflection--sounds crazy, but sometimes it works.) Another classy, excellent render!

I like this. Dunno why. It looks like part of a movie. Now I want to know what the story is. Keep this up, and you might give jjmslee a run for his money when it comes to Bryce sci-fi scenes.

I went to Yanick Dusseault's site and saw the image you patterned this after. I can see what you admire in his work. Your rendition here (and ALL of your stuff) is nothing to be ashamed of. This is marvelous! Keep it up.
