I'm Italian, and I'm ashamed of my Country. My government indirectly gave its support to this cruel madness. I hope there's someone out here from the presently bombed countries, because I would like to make my apologies, and say this: I'm only one of the over 80% Italian people who were and *are* AGAINST this criminal attack perpetrated ridiculizing the UN. My government did not take into any account the opinion of the majority of Italian people. Is this democracy? Is this the freedom we're so ready to babble about? I'm so glad there are countries like France and Germany out there. They make my hope in a different future somewhat survive. A final note (or a prayer): I don't believe in any God, but I hope there is One. If He/She exists, may He/She protect the lives of all the innocent people -- the bombed Iraqis, the US and UK common men and women who are doing their horrible duty without enjoying it -- and, in the meantime, I pray that He/She will simply forget (ooops!) to preserve the lives of Saddam Hussein, George W.Bush and all those who treats human lives as garbage and who have their willing fingers trembling with anticipation on the various triggers and launch buttons.
