Description

My first 3dmax posting :) I created it this using the 3dworld tutorial. Anyone got any suggestions that could make it look better.

Excellent! However, I would suggest that you work with the colors; if your intention is a huge wave, the water itself would be darker in hue, and the foam less glossy and more white. Also, I would put more of a curve into the wave-- that would create more dynamic movement. Perhaps more of a crest farther off, so the wave isn't just a line, but a rolling wave. What if you put an object in the wave, to give it a sense of scale? Perhaps a boat, or a bottle, or even seaweed, depending on the size you're goin' fer.

Hi Nick2k, im also new to max. Look in the max-forum. Ive posted a question with some pictures of a scene with waves. Sadly im not able to get a copy of 3dworld-mag here, so i had to try it myself. Eventualy you could write a tutorial how you do it?? ;-). The foot of your wave is a little bit too wavy. In reality the foot of a wave is more flat, because the water flows to the top of the wave.

It looks nice but you should work on wave arc... Details on the wave arc has too big details. But anyway, my mark is 9.

How did you do that ? I have no idea to model such a wave. Is it a plugin ? But the mapping on the right side looks alittle bit like plastic.
