Description

Now retired Lieutenant William Farnsworth is saddened, as he remembers that fateful day when his plane was shot down and his legs were paralyzed. He thinks to himself, "War is not always glory..." Dedicated to those who have lost life and limb in the wars of the past and the wars of the now. Disclaimer: This is not for or against the current war, just for soldiers everywhere... Comments welcome. Thanks for looking and feel free to stop by my other images if you get a moment. Poser/Photoshop/Painter/Vue I wanted to do a real emotional piece for a change, since I always do lighthearted stuff in general. Farnsworth was rendered in Poser, the background was rendered in Vue and then it was postworked in Painter/Photoshop to touch up the texture, and add effects to the airplanes... While I rarely get super excited over products I buy, I have to say that Boris by capsces is a must for Mike owners. It's what Daz should have put into Mike to make just about every character you can think of. I highly recommend checking it out...Farnsworth is my first character with Boris, but it won't be the last... This is indeed a departure from your usual light-hearted renders - and although I despise war of any kind - it is an inescapable reality, and this well executed picture only enhances your wide spectrum of both personality and emotionalism, not to mention your ability to address ANY subject you choose. So many artists fall into a niche, a rut if you will, and they hammer one subject to death, never trying anything new. The lack of this in your art my friend is one of the major reasons I have such deep affection for your highly skilled and prolific work. One of the things that really makes this render is the overall darkness - with heavy use of blacks and deep shadows. This lends both atmosphere and depth of feeling - excellently done Shadow.
