I still need to add more details on the design. And I have no clue about how I'm going to texture this. :) Comments are more than welcome.

Great start! Now, think about your environment that these pipes and cables reside in... 1. Are they above ground or underground? That will factor into your texturing.

  1. Are they in a dark damp area?
    If so, some standing water and heavy corrosion etc. should be considered. Torn or faded warnings, instructions, etc. would also be visible.
    Also consider adding a dim light source(s) to poorly illuminate the scene.

  2. Are they in a often serviced or inspected area? That would mean you could see some slight corrosion, but the area would also looked at least maintained.
    The lighting would also be better, instructions on the walls would be legible, etc.

Sky is the limit, so start playing and see what you like...
